My Flip Pal arrived!!! First Review!

Hello! How is everyone?  What are you working on today?

I have exciting news, my Flip Pal arrived today!  I just took it out of the packaging, and my first thoughts are:

Quick Start Quide:
Short, easy to page double sided, complete with photos.  Very happy there isn't a novel to read before being able to use it, or even turn it on!

Set up:
Again, sort and easy!  takes about 30 sec. to set the date time stamp and you are done!

Flip Pal comes with, SD memory card (already inserted), Batteries (already inserted), and SD memory card to USB adaptor.

As far as set up and becoming familiar with the machine, that is it!  Super easy!  Scanner is light weight and purse size for those of us sporting the slightly over sized purses in fashion at the moment ;) .  Optional carrying cases and screen protectors are available.

Ok, so this is my initial review!  Now its time to scan everything in sight!  Next review will be about the review screen, stitching large items and upload process to the far a quick glimpse at the instructions (yes I did in fact read the instruction sheet!), looks again EASY!!!!

I can't wait to take this on vacation and scan all the typical paper souvenirs for the scrapbook!

Happy Scanning!

Inspired by a Song - blog hop April 7th

Welcome to my first official blog post for 2012! ...say what?! yes I have not been loving my blog in 2012 as I have been busy doing custom scrap books, and preparing for a spring retreat!  I promise I will show my blog more love from now on, as it has been very lonely! ;)

I am very excited to participate in Gill's Inspired by a Song blog hop.  At first I chose the song " everything old is new again"...well a project idea just wasn't coming to me, and then I realized, I need to make and old project new again!  You know that one layout that just doesn't work for you?  I had one that had been the thorn in my side for quite some time, and had been on hold just as long!  After taking a class from from a well known Canadian scrapbooker - psst subscribe to the Canadian Scrapbook Magazine for more details! ;)  The layout finally worked for me!  Thanks Christy for all the help!

So now my new song is "YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE"!

Thanks for visiting my blog today, I appreciate comments and followers!

Now for the rest of the hop!  you next stop is Lisa G

Day 2, Santa Baby Digital Blog Hop Dec.17th and 18th!

Hello, and welcome to day 2 of our Santa Baby Digital Blog Hop! Thanks for joining us again today, I have a new project for you!  If you are looking for Day one post, scroll down to after this post.

If you are arriving here from Becky's blog you are in the right place!  If not, please start with Becky!

For today's project, I have designed some Christmas gift tags.  These tags started out with the freebie page from Creative Memories  designed by Jenny Dammann.

As with my day one project (blog post below this one) I have used the Creative Memories Storybook Creator 3.0+.  And again, I used several layers of surface and filter options to achieve a look of glitter, aged leather and or a platinum finish look.

This page was designed to be printed with the home printer and I think I will use card stock, possibly print a few, then cut out random parts, and relayer for some depth.

I have a muti blog hop candy right now, please comment and follow to be eligible!  The winner will get to choose one cricut cartridge from Creative Memories current selection of carts.  Draw will be at the end of Dec.

Your next stop on the hop is Gill

If you get lost along the way the line up is:

Thanks for joining us over the last two days, we really appreciate you visiting every blog!

Santa Baby Digital Blog Hop Dec. 17th and18th!H

Hello, and thanks for joining Becky and I for the Santa Baby Digital Blog Hop!  This is a two day hop so be sure to check back tomorrow, as most blogs will have a second project for you to check out!

I am an independent Creative Memories consultant, so my software of choice naturally is the Creative Memories Storybook Creator for PC.  I am currently using version 3.0.  I have been digital scrapbooking for over 2 years now and absolutely love it!

If you are joining me from Becky's blog you are in the right place!  If not please start there and follow along.
Here is the line up, should you get lost along the way!

For my first project, I will be sharing with you the first custom album cover that I have designed.  This cover will be used for our family Christmas layouts.  For more info on custom covers check out my personal web page

This layout was inspired by my advent calendar, which I plan to display them side by side on the bookshelf during Christmas.  I would like to point out one of the many techniques that was used on this page.  In the middle behind Santa, that piece started as a cream piece of paper, which I alter several times with the surface and filter options in the CM software, then cut it as a postage stamp shape.  In the end I loved how it now looks like aged leather.  I am now addicted to using surface and filter options! LOL!  My Custom cover has already arrived in the mail, and it is incredible, I think all my scrapbook will now have a custom cover!

If you would like to know more about this project you are welcome to message me in the comments section below and I will reply via email.

I have multi blog hop candy right now, which I will be drawing for at the end of December.  The lucky winner will get to choose one Cricut Cartridge from the current Creative Memories exclusive selection.  In order to be eligible you must follow and comment on my blog.

Thanks again for joining us today!  Enjoy the hop!

    National Cupcake Day Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Thanks for joining all of us today for National Cupcake Day!

If you are joining me from Ashley,  then you are in the right spot.  If you have stumbled across this hop, please start at the beginning with Gill

For my cupcake project, I have decorated a gift bag for an upcoming 18th birthday in our family.  This was my first time using glitter, anything Tim Holtz distressing.  It was quite the learning experience, as I am typically a 12 x12 scrapbooker and also a digital scrapbooker.  I have decided this is the year I need to think outside my comfort zone and try some new techniques out!  I am planning to participate in a blog hop per month during 2012 to help accomplish some crafting goals!  Huge thanks to Gill for letting me self invite myself in this hop!

So here it is, my first attempt at a custom gift bag.

    and close up...

So what is going in the gift bag you ask??? WELL!!!! you will have to wait for the next blog hop with Gill in January!  I have a paper craft planned that I haven't ever attempted, and it just might be the biggest non scrapbook project for me yet!

And just for fun, here is a photo of the cupcakes I made for my husbands 40th Birthday!  True Italian style, LOL, spaghetti and meat ball cupcakes (cream icing with baci chocolates and strawberry jam), complete with white chocolate sprinkles for the parmigiano cheese!  Buon appetito!

Now you are off to visit, Doris

Thanks for visiting me today, I have a multi hop blog candy going on right now.  Please follow and leave a comment to be entered in my draw for your choice of one current Creative Memories Cricut Cartridge.  Draw will take place at the end of Dec.  I welcome all comments and suggestions on my project today so I can learn more!

    Happy Crafting!

Merry Christmas to all Coffee Lovers!

Hello!  Thanks for joining me today!  We are somewhat snowed in today, so I am enjoying a nice hot mocha!  Then I realized I haven't shared my most recent wreath with you!  I have been hoarding the mini coffee cups that I used on this project for several years!!! Seriously, almost 10 years at least!  Finally decided what to do with them!  Enjoy!

    Thanks for looking!

    Teacher Appreciation gifts!

Hello, thanks for joining me today.  I have a very cool teacher appreciation gift to show you!...and so easy and affordable to make!  This project was inspired by Pinterest, my new addiction!

Ok lets get started with a photo, followed by instructions!

Insert the oohs and aahs here! LOL!  In case it isn't obvious, these are faux gum ball machines!
    Supplies and Instructions:
paint terracotta pots and lids, turn pot upside down, glue rose bowl to it.
Glue ribbon around base, tie ribbon and bells around neck.
Glue wooden dresser knob to underside of terracotta plate.
Fill with foiled chocolates and you have a Christmas gum ball machine!

Super easy project and great for the kiddies to help with.  My son and I had so much fun making these, we made 5 in total for teachers, and 4 more for our family.

    Thanks for looking!

    The Blog is fixed!

Hello, I am very excited for my new blog layout!  I created  it myself, and after an entire day of playing, asking lots of questions, and screaming at blogger...I have my own custom header and background!    What do you think?  All suggestions welcome!

I have lots of crafts, and post ideas ready to schedule, stay tuned all through Dec.  I am in two more blog hops before the end of the year, and one of my projects I am going to do a link up party.  If you want a hint so you can participate and link up a project, think "something old, is new again"!  Clean out the craft room, dig all the way to the back, the entire project has to be made from supplies you already own and have been hoarding for a few, maybe several years!

So stay tuned for birthday, Christmas, altered projects, and banners all through Dec.!

    Happy Crafting!

    Blog background under construction!!

Hello, please forgive the mess, I am trying to put a new background on and it isn't going well!

If you know what code I use from photobucket and where I put it for my custom background, please let me know!  Very frustrated with blogger right now and going for a walk and some fresh air!

    Dandylicious Creates Blogiversary!

Welcome to my blog, and my blogiversary blog hop!  My blog is just little, turning one and what a great year of crafting, and crafting firsts it has been!

First I have to mention the talented blogger that inspired me to start blogging, (and happens to be one of the stops today!)  CanadianNickel Scrapn.  I found Nicole's blog while searching Canadian crafting sites and was hooked on the whole blog idea instantly!  I played around with blogger for a few weeks, and with the help from several friends Dandylicious Creates was ready for public viewing!

The next huge, HUGE first, is incredible!! Being published in the best scrapbooking magazine ever!!!, Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine!  While attending the scrapbook carnival here in Calgary, I submitted a layout for a kids cancer fundraiser and was absolutely floored when I was selected to be published in the Spring 2011 issue.  Seriously started crying when they announced my layout, I just couldn't believe it!  I was very proud!, so proud I purchased 10 copies of that issue! LOL!  Not sure if I will top this achievement, but I will sure try!

The rest of the year was spent playing along on blog hops for the first time, scrapbook and card challenges, entering the Cricut world, meeting numerous talented crafters, and even co-hosting and hosting my own blog hops, and of course every crafters new obsession: PINTEREST!!!! and currently in the process of applying for a design team spot with Creative Memories!.

It's going to be hard to top this past year so I have set some crafting goals for myself, it is a very long list, but  one you can all help with!  As my blog is entering year two, I would like to reach 200 followers before the end of 2011!  Spread the word please! ;)

OK, time for some crafts!  For my blogiversary I had started numerous projects, was half way through and they just didn't do a "blogiversary" theme justice!  I had complete creative block!  So I told hubby, he of course laughed at me, but then had the greatest idea!  Hubby very cheek-ily says what about OUR honeymoon album!!!...Hmmm, the man was on to something!  One of the many things on my crafting list for the next year is to finally, FINALLY complete my wedding and honeymoon album, AND it will be a 5 yr anniversary gift for the hubby next September!

So to start, I have decided to make a custom album cover for our honeymoon album, since it was a trip of a lifetime!  Here is the design that will be printed right into the fabric of the album.

and now for the back!  Very excited with the back!  I used the names of all the cities and countries in a word art overlay, I love making word art overlays!!! LOL  Here it is!

This is going to be a huge on going project, on our honeymoon I took over 3,000 photos, visited 6 countries, and 11 cities!...I am going to guess 3 albums???

    Ok on with the hop!
here is your line up! and a very talented line up at that!    this is your next stop!

    Now for some CANDY!!!
I am holding a multi blog hop candy opportunity!  I will take the name of everyone that comments on this blog hop and the Santa Baby blog hop in Dec., use to pick a luck winner!  And what does the winner get you ask???
They will get to choose one Creative Memories Cricut Cartridge from the current catalog!  Here is the link to view what we have available!

So please visit everyone, and comment (and I will check! ;)) in order to be eligible to win the prize, I can ship to Canada and the USA.

Thank-you so much for visiting my blog and helping me reach 200 followers by Dec. 31, 2011!

I have something very cool to show you!!!

I had so much fun making this!  It was one of those projects that just kept growing and growing!  I used lots of techniques on this banner that I don't usually think to do...sandpaper for some distressing, some inking for a burnt look, stickles for a glitter spider web... There is still so much more I wanted to add to this and play with, but Halloween is tomorrow!  So it will grow some more next year!

Hope you have a safe and memorable Halloween!
